Privacy Policy
Last updated June 16, 2026
This policy explains what information BuildFolk ("BuildFolk", "we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. BuildFolk is a community for product people building real tools with AI.
What we collect
We keep this minimal. We only collect:
- What you give us through the join form: your name, your email address, and (optionally) your answer to "one tool you wish existed for your work."
- Nothing else automatically. This site runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of our own, and we do not build profiles on visitors.
Why we use it
- To send you an invite to the community.
- To let you know about upcoming live build sessions and community news.
- To run and improve the community.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We will not use your email for anything beyond what is described here without asking you first.
Where your information lives
We rely on a few trusted services to operate. Each handles your data under its own policy:
- Airtable stores your form submission (privacy policy).
- Railway hosts the website (privacy policy).
- Slack is where the community runs once you accept your invite (privacy policy).
- Luma powers the events calendar. If you register for a session, Luma handles that under its own terms (privacy policy).
Legal basis
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information based on your consent (you chose to submit the form) and our legitimate interest in running the community. You can withdraw consent at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you are part of, or interested in, the community. Ask us to remove it and we will delete it from our records, normally within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop emailing you, at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like PIPEDA (Canada) or the GDPR (EU/UK). To exercise any of these, contact us (below).
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including keeping access credentials server-side and out of our public code. No method of storage or transmission is 100 percent secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
The services above may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the site you understand your information may be transferred and stored there.
Children
The community is intended for working professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
